What is the best type of brush to paint miniature pewter?

Synthetic, natural sand, etc.? Names of specific brand? I use Citadel and Reaper paints – water-based acrylic. I want a brush that retains its shape over time. I have been painting for a number of years and found that Citadel brushes are binding and not the best quality. I could really use advice from someone who has been in the hobby for a long time and tried many types of brushes.

I've only been painting for the last two or three years and the learning curve was steep at times. When it comes to brushes, like any tool, use the best you can get. Winsor-Newton Series 7 brushes sand seem to be an industry standard. I have some # 2 Rounds and use for almost everything. I tried P3 brushes, but I am a lover of dry brush, at this point. The new sand Citadel brushes are quite nice, relatively cheap compared other. I picked up some basic brushes and spread in the dry brush and fine detail. I think the sand and take their points form a lot better than anything synthetic.
